I have 10 years of experience, and specialize in the field of geology with specific knowledge in the areas of hazard assessment, sedimentation and geomorphology. I have published on such topics as tsunami hazard assessment, dam pool sedimentation and modern surveys of hurricanes and tsunamis. I lived for three years in Japan, first as a postdoctoral researcher and then as a lecturer at the Disaster Control Research Center at Tohoku University.
